The metal group known as HELLYEAH has partnered with Stratus Racing to unveil the car of tomorrow which will be wrapped with the HELLYEAH logo at the Daytona Raceway on July 2, 2010. Fans will be offered a once in a lifetime experience to watch the #73 car from the pit with the members of HELLYEAH and the Stratus racing crew. Current members of HELLYEAH are Vinnie Paul Abbott (Pantera & Damageplan), Chad Gray, Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne), Tom Maxwell (Nothingface), and Bob “Zilla” Kakaha (Damageplan).

Only 20 packages will be sold and are currently available at www.stratusracinggroup.com for $495 per ticket.

HELLYEAH has a new album Stampede to be released on July 13, 2010. “Hell Of A Time” is the first official single and it began streaming on radio stations June 1. Pre-orders for the new album are available at Amazon.com.

Avenged Sevenfold Drummer Toxicology Results

Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, drummer for Avenged Sevenfold, died on December 28, 2009 from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and alcohol. The toxicology report recently released indicates that oxycodone(a painkiller), oxymorphone(similar to morphine), diazepam/nordiazepam(anxiety medications) and ethanol(intoxicant in alcohol) were in his system. Cause of death, acute polydrug intoxication due to the combined effects of all these substances. He also had an enlarged heart which more than likely played a role in his death.

Avenged Sevenfold has a new album, Nightmare, due to be released July 27th. The Rev was co-writing on the album at the time of his death. A summer tour, Rockstar Energy Uproar festival, which starts August 17th will feature one of The Rev’s favorite drummers, Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater.

We had the opportunity to see Avenged Sevenfold at Ozz Fest a few years back and they were awesome. The Rev will be missed by all his fans. A truly amazing drummer.

Whitesnake Making Wine !

Whitesnake and Dennis de la Montanya, of De La Montanya Winery, have teamed up to present a new wine. Lead singer, David Coverdale, described the wine this way, “It’s a bodacious, cheeky little wine, filled to the brim with the spicy essence of sexy, slippery snakeyness….I recommend it to complement any and all grown-up friskiness and hot-tub jollies…Is this love? I believe it is.” The Whitesnake Zinfandel 2010 will be available after July 1, 2010 at $29.95 a bottle.

Whitesnake recently parted ways with Uriah Duffy, bassist, and Chris Frazier, drummer. The new drummer is Brian Tichy who has played with Velvet Revolver, Billy Idol, Foreigner and Ozzy Osbourne. A new bassist has not been announced as of yet.

Whitesnake is working on a new album to be released in the spring. The last album, Good To Be Bad, was awarded Best Album of the Year in 2008 by Classic Rock magazine.

Slash and Michael Jackson ?

According to Blabbermouth.net, Slash wanted the late Michael Jackson to be a guest vocalist on his album before the singer died of cardiac arrest last June. The former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist played lead solos on a handful of Michael Jackson’s songs in the past and says he regrets not asking Jackson to return the favor. Slash stated “When I was thinking about who I wanted to work with, Michael crossed my mind. I thought about doing something that would see him totally cross over into rock”

Slash’s solo album titled Slash was released 4/16/10 and is available on iTunes.
