Long hair at Rock Concerts an annoyance?
I love going to rock concerts, but I have to talk about this very annoying situation. It only happens when you have general admission tickets and the standing area is packed. A lot of rock fans, especially hard rock, have long hair. That’s cool with me. What is not cool is when you insist on shaking your head around, thrashing it back and forth so that your hair hits everyone around you in the face. This is especially gross after 2 or 3 bands and everyone has been jumping around in a mosh pit and they are all hot and sweaty.
Maybe I am getting too old to stand on the floor in front of the stage with all the young-uns, but I can’t imagine that anyone, no matter what their age is, would enjoy getting hit in the face by long sweaty hair or worse yet, sweat beads flying from someone else’s head and hitting you in the face.
I agree it is great when the band members on stage do this, but they aren’t standing in such a close proximity to other people. Maybe all you long haired rock concert goers that love to headbang could put your hair in a rubber band or pony tail holder so as not to diminish your fellow rockers experience?
Anyone else agree with me? Anyone disagree with me?

I hear what you’re sayin’, but having a friend who is metal to the core, just like a mosh pit, you should expect some hair flailing head banging at some shows. It depends on the band and venue, but generally, the harder, the better chance some metal heads will create some… ehem… personal space with their head banging… I live with it because I don’t want to be the old fuddy duddy that can’t hang… You know it’s Sad but True…
