Godsmack Stands Alone at Rockfest – Review

Godsmack Stands Alone at RockfestWell Godsmack fans, what could be better than seeing Godsmack live you might ask? How about seeing them live back to back years? Oh yeah!! Rumor has it they actually contacted Rockfest and asked if they could play there again this year. Lucky for us!

And what a show it was! Last year Godsmack was great but lacked something, hmmm, what was it? I know, pyro baby! To me there’s something about hard rock and pyro that just go good together, and Godsmack had plenty of it.

Here’s a recap of the music we were rockin out to! “Straight Out Of Love“, “Greed“, “Enemy“, “Moon Baby“, “Awake“, “Realign“, “Speak To Me“, “Voodoo“, “Keep Away” and “Whatever“. Now as if that weren’t enough, the boys came back with three encore numbers, “Serenity“, “Good Times/Bad Times“, and “I Stand Alone“. Pretty sweet selection I might say!

Godsmack rocks Rockfest! Here comes the part of this review some of you might not like. At last year’s show, Sully has another set of drums out on stage and did a solo. He kept dropping his sticks and saying he sucked. Well, I thought that his performance was very cool, no problem, kinda funny. The problem I have is this year he did a guitar solo which consisted of crouching in front of the speakers near the back of the set and making noise which sounded like feedback. I think this is called reverberating. A good guitar solo is great but I don’t have time for this, just play real music. Besides this small little tidbit I thought this show was awesome with great music and crowd interaction, pyro and energy.

Godsmack, anytime you feel the need to call up and ask to play at Rockfest again, don’t hesitate. We love you guys!

Godsmack only has one more show scheduled and it is on Friday, August 1 at the Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. Tickets are sold out at all three price levels, $45, $75 and $95 but Ticketmaster does have an auction and ticket exchange service you can try. For more information go here.
