Ligion at Rockfest ‘08 – Review
I know that many of us, myself included, might tend to skip opening bands that we are not familiar with when we go to a concert. Well Britne and I decided to check out this band called Ligion after lunch on Sunday. She had heard some of their music on their MySpace page and thought they might be good. I’m glad we checked them out!
This five member band from Cleveland, OH with only one record to their name actually drew a small but decent crowd early in the afternoon when most Rockfest partiers aren’t even out of bed yet. The small crowd was really into this band, and they should be! I have to be honest when I say that I’m not familiar (yet) with their music but that didn’t stop me or anyone else from enjoying the show. These guys rocked and had good interaction with the crowd.
To top it all off as I was making a trip to the VIP tent for another beer after the show, I had a chance to shake hands with the lead singer, Ligion, and the bass player, Levi, and tell them they did a great job. They were really cool dudes. They have dates scheduled through the end of August. Be sure to check their MySpace page for a schedule. If you get a chance to see this band, don’t hesitate because you will not be disappointed. I really feel they are going places.
By the way guys, feel free to come down to Central Illinois and play anytime. Britne and I will sure be there!
