Puddle of Mudd – Review of Rockfest ‘08 Performance

Puddle of Mudd – What a fitting band name considering it was raining pretty much all weekend, but that didn’t stop anyone from coming out to hear the grungy alternative sound of these guys.

As I looked around the crowd it was apparent that people were very familiar with POM’s music. As they played their hits such as “Blurry”, Psycho”, “She Hates Me”, “Famous”, “Control” and even “TNT” by AC/DC, people were singing at the top of their lungs. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. At one point, a woman was brought up on stage and she and Wes Scantlin, lead vocalist, traded off lyrics to the song “Summer Lovin” from the Grease soundtrack.

The bands sound was really good, but they didn’t have much movement on stage at all. I feel it takes something away from a rock show when this happens. Oh well, they still jammed. Guess we can’t always have it all!
