2008 Beloit Riverfest Final Lineup
Riverfest is held in Beloit, WI July 10 – 13 at Riverside Park. The main stage entertainment has been announced.
Thursday will feature Seether. Their newest album “Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces” contains the hit “Fake It”. The band is made up of Shaun Morgan on vocals and guitar, John Humphrey on drums and Dale Stewart on bass. Their previous album contained such hits as “Truth“, The Gift” and “Remedy“.
Friday will feature REO Speedwagon who has been around since the 1970’s. The band features longtime members Bruce Hall on bass, Brian Hitt on drums, Dave Amato on lead guitar and Kevin Cronin on lead vocals. They have had many hits over the years such as “Keep On Lovin You“, “I Can’t Fight This Feeling” and “Ridin The Storm Out“. Last year their new album “Find Your Own Way Home” produced a hit “I Needed to Fall” that put them back on the charts.
Saturday will feature Molly Hatchet and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. The southern rock band Molly Hatchet has been around since the 1970’s and original keyboardist John Galvin and veteran singer Phil McCormick are still with the band. Co-founding member Dave Hlubek returned in 2004. Joan Jett has had such hits as “I Love Rock N Roll“, “Crimson & Clover” and “Dirty Deeds“. She is also the first female rock recording artist to own her own record label.
Sunday will feature The Beach Boys. They have been popular for almost 50 years and have had many hits. What a great way to wrap up the festival.
Riverfest is also hosting a Riverfest Singing Idol competition. The first place winner wins cash plus an album development recording contract. Second and third place winners will win consolation prizes plus the opportunity to record a single. The top three finalists will compete live on the main stage before The Beach Boys concert on July 13, 2008. Visit the website for more information.
