2008 Decatur Celebration Lineup

Come to downtown Decatur, IL for the 23rd Annual Decatur Celebration. The street festival is safe for the whole family with 11 stages, arts & crafts, food vendors, commercial vendors featuring many unique items, a parade (held at 10:00 AM on Saturday), carnival and there is even a Kids’ Block with activities and a stage for the children. The best part is that admission is FREE! The Decatur Celebration begins at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 1 and ends at 9:30 PM Sunday, August 3. 11:00 PM is closing time on Friday and Saturday night. Decatur Celebration attracts 300,000 visitors each year.

We never miss the Decatur Celebration! We always have a great time listening to the music, meeting new friends and eating the great food. There are so many food vendors featuring specialties such as alligator-on-a-stick, turkey legs, fried Twinkies, cajun shrimp and lots more. For visitors over 21 there are beer and wine coolers available for purchase also.

    hum you would think they would have a 80’s rock band or something a little closer to rockin’ all of these are great music too,but ya know i wished i was the head of getting music for this thing….

      I think budget plays a big part in the selection. There were a lot of festivals this year which I believe drives prices up. It’s also a family event and that might play a part also. I’m excited about the Bay City Rollers. I haven’t heard them since I was in Jr. High. Did you get your newsletter?
