2008 Rock Fest Final Lineup
Only 44 days until Rock Fest! We can’t wait. We made a lot of new friends last year and we’re ready to go visit them again. If you have never been to a big outdoor festival and camped for a few days, you have no idea what you’re missing. I know the thought of not sleeping in a comfy bed, using a porta pot, and showering in a strange place is not appealing to everyone. Although, if you have any sense of adventure in you at all, these things are only minor issues that once you experience the festival life they will become less important. Live music in the great outdoors is an awesome experience in itself but then you add all the activities happening in the campgrounds and it is quite the party. Last year we saw many unusual campsites. There was a 10 person beer bong station, a dance floor on top of a bus, dancing girls, a coffee table with a stripper pole, and even swimming pools. Most everyone is very friendly and you will make friends that you can’t wait to go back the next year to see again. There is even a yahoo group that we all use to keep in touch throughout the year. It is almost like Rock Fest is part of our extended family. If you like live music, meeting new people and having a lot of fun, then Rock Fest is for you!!
The lineup for this year is as follows:
Thursday
- Vic Ferrari
Trixter
Poison
Boston
Friday
- Cowboy Mouth
Jackyl
Puddle of Mud
Three Days Grace
Godsmack
Saturday
- Plain White T’s
Switchfoot
Live
Goo Goo Dolls
Stone Temple Pilots
Sunday
- Ligion
Dishwalla
Tesla
The Wallflowers
Matchbox Twenty
There are still VIP tickets, reserved lawn and GA tickets available. VIP tickets are such a good deal too. They are $500 but they include lunch and dinner Thursday – Sunday, complimentary beverages (yes, even tap beer and wine spritzers), up front reserved seating, and up front picture taking. If you prefer to cook in the campground and you don’t drink lots of tap beer or wine spritzers then there are reserved lawn chair seats and general admission. These tickets range from $165 – $245. If you can’t make it for four days there are also 1 day tickets available for $82.50 – $87.50. There is separate pricing for child tickets also. Campsites are $95 each or $20 for parking if you’re not staying on the Rock Fest grounds.
If you make it to Rock Fest, be sure to come by and say hello!! We’re camping at CAL 15 and sitting in VIP section B row 19.
If you’ve never heard of some of these bands, be sure to check out the sample tracks below. I hadn’t heard of some of them either so I’ve been listening to them. The new band I’m looking forward to seeing is Cowboy Mouth. I have heard from many people that they are very good on stage.
