Rocklahoma added a fifth day of entertainment due to the overwhelming response to the festival. The day added is Wednesday, July 9 and one of the highlights is “Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp“. For those of you who don’t know what that is, I didn’t know what it was, it is a traveling camp for musicians of all levels to learn about the music business from professional rock n roll stars. You even get to play with the band at a major rock venue. The band includes Gilby Clarke (Guns N Roses), Earl Slick (David Bowie/John Lennon), Chris Slade (AC/DC, The Firm), Mark Slaughter (Slaughter), Elliot Easton (The Cars), Dave Ellefson (Former Megadeth Bassist), Glen Hughes (Deep Purple), Mark Hudson (Songwriter/Producer Aerosmith) and Kip Winger (Winger). I have no idea how much something like this costs, but if you attend the one at Rocklahoma they are including a ticket for the whole weekend. If you would like more info about the Rock n Roll Fantasy camp including other tour dates and prices, visit the website.
The Wednesday portion of the festival is open to the general public for just $25 per person. The proceeds are to benefit the victims of a deadly tornado that hit Picher, OK. Anyone who has purchased a 3 day general admission ticket or VIP tickets will be admitted free of charge. All active members of the Armed Forces will get in free on Wednesday also.
