Comstock Festival Still On for 2008?
There were rumors earlier in the year that the Comstock Windmill Festivals were cancelled for this year and maybe permanently. The owner, Henry Nuxoll, was facing lawsuits and unpaid bills. A Missouri man, Jim Proskocil, who grew up near the Nebraska sandhills where the festivals are held has purchased the property and intends to continue the festival under the new name Comstock Music Series. Jim has 17 years experience in county fair management. I hope he is able to put this festival back on track. I believe it has many loyal fans and the small community where it is held benefits from it every year.
The dates for the country festival are July 10 – 13 and the Rock festival is July 17 – 20. The festival is held in Comstock, NE (hence the name) and there are many camping and ticket options available.

In an interview with TV station KHAS channel 5, the new owner stated the show will go on and he is hoping people will show up to make it a success. Performers are still being worked out for the rock concerts. There will be more bands announced. “You’re not going to see any $225,000 bands there, but what we have is very very good and accountability is something I am looking at. We have to balance the budget here a little bit. I think this is extremely good to be starting 7 weeks before the concert,” said Jim Proskocil. There will be other changes to the festival such as added attractions and displays.
i think comedians would be a big hit.
Rothbury and Bonnaroo both have comedians as well as music. I think it is a good idea also.

The Comstock Rock festival is scheduled to be held July 30, 2009 through August 2, 2009. We’ll be sure and post dates for ticket sales and lineup announcements as soon as they are released.
you can not use artist names untill you have artist have a signed contrack and if you have a signed contrack you would allready have ticket sales I will call william morris and buddy lee agency Mon. 02/23/09 and iform them of your miss use of artist names

We have not listed any artist names yet. This was the announcement for last year’s festival, in 2008. As soon as information is available for 2009, we will be sure and get it posted. The only thing announced for 2009 so far are the dates which is July 30 through August 2, 2009.
