Scott Weiland – Checks in to serve Jail time
Scott Weiland checked in at a Van Nuys, CA jail to serve his 8 day sentence on Monday, May 12 according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Information website. People.com states he was sentenced on April 28 for a second DUI conviction stemming from an arrest in November 2007. He also has to pay a $2,000 fine and ordered to complete an 18 month alcohol education program. Stone Temple Pilots is scheduled to perform at Rock On The Range on May 17. If he has to serve the 8 days consecutively, what will happen to the scheduled performance? A couple of comments left on Scott’s Myspace page make reference to him being out of jail already. One even says he only had to stay 10 hours. Hopefully the show Friday at Rock on the Range will go smoothly. If any of you go to the show please post me a comment and let me know how it went.
In April, Velvet Revolver announced they were splitting from Scott but Scott is back on tour with his previous band, Stone Temple Pilots. He is also working on a double solo album that should be released in November. He is also working on his autobiography with writer David Ritz and it is due out by the end of the year.
I’m looking forward to seeing Stone Temple Pilots in July at RockFest. I hope Scott is putting his troubles behind him and is ready to have a great reunion tour.
