Admission to the music festival is free before 5:00 PM Friday and 1:00 PM on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. After these times it is $5.00. Reserved seating is available for the concerts and the ticket price varies. We have bought reserved seats for the last two years and they are worth every penny!

2009 Des Moines Rib America Festival – Dates and Band Info

The 2009 Rib America Festival in Des Moines will be July 16, 2009 through July 19, 2009 and will be held at the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines.

The festival features BBQ ribs and outdoor music! Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the show. Admission is FREE before 6:00 PM on Thursday and Friday and before 1:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, admission is $5 after those times and admission includes the concerts. Children 12 and under are always free. There are also reserved seats available for the concerts. A limited number of seats are set up in front of the stage. The reserved seats are $25 each for Friday and Saturday performances and $20 each for Thursday and Sunday. Present your reserved ticket for $10 in food and beverage tickets. Reserved tickets purchased before July 15 include your $5 admission. Buy your reserved tickets here!

Brian and I have not attended the Rib America festival in Des Moines but we do attend the one in St. Louis every year. Rock n Resort Music Festival in Northeast Ohio

This will be the 5th Annual Rock N Resort Music Festival. The festival is July 18th through 20th and is held at the Clay’s Park Resort in Canal Fulton, OH. This resort is a 500 acre site with a 10 acre lake. The amenities are endless. The resort features full service RV camping with water and electric hook-ups, laundry facilities, plus shower and restroom facilities. There are lots of activities such as the water park, indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, golf driving range, tennis and basketball courts, miniature golf, sand volleyball and horse shoe courts, baseball fields, trails for mountain biking, walking or hiking, game room, paddleboats and fishing. There is a restaurant, general store and bar on site also.

Of course, the big bonus is Classic Rock Music ! This year’s lineup on the Main Stage is:

Tickets are still available. This sounds like a great music festival and one that even the kids would enjoy. We can’t attend because we’ll be at Rockfest, but if you attend, let us know all about it!

2008 Muskegon Summer Celebration lineup

The Muskegon Summer Celebration is called “The BIG Party”. The outdoor festival began in 1993 with a small budget of $170,000 and 350,000 attendees. The budget has grown to $600,000 and draws crowds between 600,000 to 625,000 each year! The celebration is held at Heritage Landing along the shores of Muskegon Lake in downtown Muskegon. It is a family event with activities for everyone. The Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge stage where the national bands perform is an open air venue. It is recommended that you bring lawn chairs.
