I’ve been shopping for a guitar. My daughter wants a guitar for Christmas. I know it may be a little early to be thinking about Christmas already, but we have six children and three grandchildren to buy for so I like to start shopping early. I found a great place on line to buy musical instruments. GuitarCenter.com offers great prices on guitars, drums, keyboards and all the accessories you will need.

Let me put this in perspective for you. A few years ago, my youngest daughter wanted a guitar. We bought a purple butterfly Daisy Rock guitar from a local music store. I bought just the guitar which came with a strap and a bag and it was $250. In comparison, while recently looking for a guitar for my older daughter, I found a starter kit for $199 plus free ground shipping at The Guitar Center which includes the guitar, it is pink and exactly what she wants, plus all these accesories: 10W amplifier, Electronic Tuner, Guitar Strap, Picks, String Winder, Polish Cloth, DVD Girl’s Guitar Method and Gig bag.

She is going to love this. Good thing she doesn’t read the website or I guess her suprise would be ruined. If you’re in the market for a new instrument, I would definitely recommend looking at The Guitar Center. The Guitar Center has been around since the 1960’s and they carry hundreds of brands. They also offer gift cards which make nice gifts.

My daughter wants to take guitar lessons also. With gas prices so high, I’ve been thinking about buying a “learn to play guitar at home package” online so I don’t have to drive her to lessons every week. I’ll be sure to update you with what I find and let you know how it works. If any of you have ever used one of these programs, please let me know what it was and how well it worked.
