Rockfest in Cadott, WI will be July 14 through July 17, 2011 and they released the lineup this morning. This will be our 5th year attending and this is by far the best lineup we’ve seen yet. If you don’t have tickets, I’d get them soon. VIP may sell out for this one!

2010 Summerfest in Milwaukee

Milwaukee Summerfest, known as the World’s Largest Music Festival, has announced the headliners for the outdoor music festival held June 24 – July 4, 2010.

Price of admission for adults, anyone over 10, is $15 after 4:00 pm & on weekends, $10 weekdays (noon to 4:00 pm). Seniors, anyone over 60, is $3, children, 3 – 10, are $3 when accompanied by an adult and children under 2 are free. Admission gets you into the festival and you can also enjoy entertainment at any of the Grounds Stages at no additional charge. The Marcus Amphitheater is the only stage that requires you to purchase a reserved ticket.

2010 Rocklahoma Music Festival

Rocklahoma is back for 2010, but there has been a drastic change in the date. Rocklahoma has previously been held in July but this year it has been moved to Memorial Day weekend, May 28 – 30, 2010. I think this is a good move due to the weather in Oklahoma in July can be pretty hot.

The lineup has changed some also. Previously known as a 80’s music festival, this year there is a combination of genres.

Review of Saliva at Rockfest 2009

Saliva at Rockfest 2009

Saliva was the second band to play on Friday 7/17/09 at Rockfest. I really hope this was due to their schedule and not a decision of the fine folks at Rockfest. Here’s the breakdown: Pheromones at 1:30, Saliva at 2:45, Lifehouse at 4:30, Seether at 6:30, Barenaked Ladies at 8:45 and Sheryl Crow at 11:00. I don’t think I am going out on a limb here, but Saliva blows everyone else on the lineup out of the water. I just don’t understand.
Originally Theory of a Deadman was supposed to play in the 2:45 time slot but had to cancel at the last minute. We were bummed because we haven’t seen them before and have seen Saliva at Rockfest in 2007. Nevertheless, Saliva did not disappoint!
The weather in Cadott was unseasonably cold, I’m talking in the 50’s which made it a little rough to sit outside drinking some cold ones and listening to music. Saliva got the crowd warmed up real quick opening up with Click Click Boom. From then on they never slowed down treating us to all the hits including my two favorites “Ladies and Gentlemen” and “Rest in Pieces“.
Saliva has always been an entertaining band on stage but Friday they took it to the next level, at least guitarist Jonathan Montoya did. The entire show he was pouring beer over his head, (mind you it was in the 50’s out), and gyrating and rolling around on the stage. It was quite entertaining. After a while my wife and I agreed it got to the point that it was taking away from the rest of the show.
Great show and a great way to start the day off. It would have been even better if they were the closing band instead of Sheryl Crow. Let’s see, Sheryl Crow, closing on Friday night at Rockfest. I don’t know about anyone else at Rockfest but I don’t consider her rock or a worthy closer for Rockfest on Friday night.
Saliva was a very entertaining show that rocked and I hope to see them again in the next couple of years. They were better this year than in 2007 and I’m sure they will continue to grow and hopefully will be the headlining band one of these days.

2009 Rock On The Range – Lineup Announced and Ticket Info

Rock On The Range, aka ROTR, has announced the dates, bands and location for the 3rd year of the music festival. This year’s festival will be held May 16 and 17, 2009 at the Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH, the same venue as last year. The festival will feature three stages this year and more than 35 bands. In 2007, the first year for the festival, 30,000 people attended. In 2008 that number increased to 55,000. I would expect that number to be even higher in 2009 with the announcement of some of rock’s biggest artists in the lineup. Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 10:00 AM ET with VIP packages that include tickets, hotel accommodations and festival merchandise. ROTR is also featuring an on-line recycling trade-in program this year in effort to “Go Green”. Fans can recycle their old cell phones and MP3 players for “swag bucks” which can be used to earn free tickets and ROTR memorabilia and offcial festival merchandise.
