Can’t Stop Rockin Tour – REO, Styx and .38 Special
REO Speedwagon, Styx and .38 Special are hitting the road together on the 2009 Can’t Stop Rockin tour! Catchy name, huh?! Considering the economy, the tour has been referred to as a “rock n roll stimulus package” and ticket prices at some venues will be as low as $13.50 each. There will also be VIP packages available. The tour begins May 13 and runs through July 11, 2009.
Styx and REO Speedwagon recorded a new single “Can’t Stop Rockin” as a joint effort in support of the tour. The single was written by REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin and Tommy Shaw from Styx. The single will begin playing on the radio in March. We’ll definitely be checking it out and adding it to our music player since the name is so fitting for the site!
I remember seeing REO Speedwagon on my 16th birthday in Peoria, IL. That was a few years ago…. They put on a great show for their fellow Illinoisians! My mom used to watch them play back in the day at the Red Lion in Bloomington, IL. Anyone else been a fan that long??
Here are the dates and venues, but the tickets are being sold through many different agencies and they are all going on sale at different times. My Husband, I and our 2 best friends have VIP tickets to the show in OKC on June 6 and we are looking forward to it!
We were in High School in the 80’s and REO was and still is my FAVORITE BAND IN THE WORLD!
I saw them once at the Country Stampede in Manhattan, KS.aprox. 10-15 years ago and they rocked then! My Husband’s favorite is 38 Special and who doesn’t like Styx? This promises to be an awesome concert….can’t wait!!!!
how about a european tour??? There are loads of rockers left in Germany that would love to rock to three of the best bands ever!!! I am presently in the US on business, but am in the wrong place at the wrong time…. Sorry to miss out on such a great combo!!!

My 3 favorite bands playing togather, but the closest June 5 is my daughters high school graduation!!! What happen to playing in Dallas or Ft worth Tx?? I know there are a bunch of us old rockers left who would love to have a concert close to home….
My husband, I and my cousins saw this concert in Albuquerque. Had a great time & heard some great music that brought back lots of memories! REO had some sound trouble and .38 Special had to start the concert with the sun in their eyes, however Styx ROCKED THE NIGHT! Tommy Shaw is still adorable after all these years!
Does anyone know how long this concert tends to go? I am trying to plan transportation details for the 22 May concert, and need an estimate. Thanks!
Just got home! Citizens Bank Arena, Ontario CA. They ROCK… and Keep on Rockin… Concert started at 7pm and ended at 11pm. First band to play was 38 Special followed by Styx and then REO Speedwagon. The encore was REO and Styx on stage together! AWESOME! Be sure to bring your camera. Eat and go to bathroom before the show, cuz you’re not going to want to miss a thing. Spectacular!
On the evening if May 21st, 38 Special, Styx, and REO played here in Ontario, California. Our arena is brand new…what a great way to start the summer. I love all the bands and have been a big fan since my high school days. I knew it would be a great concert, but it surpassed expectations! We enjoyed 4 amazing hours of rock-n-roll. The entire event was first class!
Why not Ohio? These are 3 of my favorite bands but have never seen .38 Special. We listen to .38 Special on the way to the dragstrip every weekend. It is one of those energizing groups that make you turn the radio up pretty loud.
how about a canadian tour? I know styx is playing British columbia but what about alberta?been a while since these guys played here.
